'Twas the Night Before Christmas In Heaven

What must it have been like in God's house on the night before Christmas?
A retelling of the classic 'Twas the Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore — or was it Major Henry Livingston, Jr.? (yet another Christmas conspiracy!) — from the vantage point of heaven. What must it have been like in God's house on the night before Christmas?
'Twas the night before Christmas and all through God’s house
Excitement was stirring; all heaven was roused.
It’s hard to believe that anyone slept,
There were promises made that now would be kept.
Last minute discussions explained the big plan,
The Lion of Judah is becoming a man.
Sent down to live among all the nations
With the singular goal of eternal salvation.
No one had ever envisioned this day,
God’s only Son will be moving away.
Yet he and his Father had jointly agreed
To send a High Priest who meets our great need.
The world’s foundation had not yet been laid
When their plan of redemption together they made.
The perfect Lamb of God will take away our sin
By his death on a cross at the hands of mere men.
He will bear all our sins in his body on a tree
So that from every sin we might forever be free.
'Twas the night before Christmas in heaven above,
Mankind would now see the depth of God’s love.
The children of God went to sleep with a prayer
And hoped the Messiah soon would be there.
So many had sensed that the time was at hand,
A great darkness had fallen all over the land.
But in keeping with Yahweh’s mysterious plan
The King of the ages will soon be born as man.
Yet he comes not as King to render his judgment,
He comes as High Priest to make full atonement.
He comes as a Savior for you to receive,
He comes to give life to all who believe.
The angels of heaven all danced with great joy,
Christ Jesus is now a little baby boy.
A great company of angels appeared here below,
They said, “Gloria in excelsis Deo!”
A special honor was given to one
Who said to the shepherds, “A Savior is born!”
Hosanna! Emmanuel! God is now with us!
You alone can redeem and make sinners righteous.
Peace on earth and good will to men,
Glory be to God in the highest. Amen.

This is a wonderful poem Randy. I wish I'd read this email BEORE last night. We had our small group Christmas party and I read The Night Before Christmas (by Clement C Moore) as part of our white elephant gift excange. I would have read this one afterwards as well. However, there may be another opportunity soon, so I'll make sure they hear it one way or the other. I may just forward it to them. Hal
